Entities and Interests: The Importance of Getting it Right

Make sure you get it right when you write coverage for clients entering into entities and pursuing new interests.  What changes need to be made to insurance policies involving the following examples?

  • Your homeowner client has his attorney retitle everything to a revocable trust.
  • A contractor client gets involved in a joint venture to develop a shopping mall.
  • Your insured formed a LLC to purchase rental property.

When you write coverage for clients entering in join ventures, LLC's and other relationships it's important to know the definitions, responsibilities and exposures of these entities so you can provide the policy endorsements necessary to protect all interests.  Without due diligence to discover the parties involved, your client will not have the coverage they expect and you will open your agency to a potential E&O claim.

This full-day seminar will help you understand what policy changes need to be made and you will learn standards and procedures to help reduce your exposure to professional liability and even potential fraud.

NOTE--You must be a dues-paid member of the Society of CISR, CRM or CIC to be eligible to attend.
