Ethics in the Insurance Industry

This new, online program offers you insight on the relationship ethics has with the insurance industry and the affect it has over insurance laws, businesses and professionals. You can expect to understand the basic approaches to making ethical decisions and discuss how ethics and professional responsibility are the basis for laws that govern the business.

Additionally, you will learn the steps that go into ethical decision making and measures that go into maintaining decisions over time. You will also find out the legal responsibility of agents and agencies. By the program's end, you will take all the knowledge you gained and apply it as you work through case studies.

How Do I Earn CE?

  • CE Approvals - This seminar format is considered self-study or correspondence study. As a reminder, MD residents can earn only 1/2 of CE requirement in this format each renewal period. There is no limit for PA and DE.
  • The Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware Insurance Department requires participants to successfully complete a 25 multiple question exam in order to earn CE credits for this type of seminar format. This exam will be emailed immediately following the teleconference.  (Pa. residents: In addition, your exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party.  The proctor must complete an affidavit that will be included with your exam.)

  • Participants must complete the exam and return to IA&B via mail or fax by:
  • Upon receiving a passing score (18 correct) IA&B will file CE and mail a completion certificate to participants.
  • Participants receiving unsuccessful scores (less than 18 correct) will be contacted via e-mail.

How Does It Work?

  • Upon registration, the registrant will receive an initial registration confirmation via e-mail.
  • The day prior to the conference call, each participant will receive via e-mail:

    • Information on how to access the operator-assisted teleconference
    • A ling to the presentation and support materials addressed during the program (available to view on computer screen or print)
    • An e-mail address to which participants may send questions before, during or within two hours following the program
    • Answers will be posted on www.iabgroup.com
