MD PLE education waivers
The following designations are recognized for the purpose of waiving the pre-licensing education (PLE) in the state. No designation is recognized for the purpose of waiving the examination.
Property & Casualty
Holders of the following designations qualify:
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC),
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU),
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society,
- Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) and
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Note that for both the CIC and CPCU/CLU designations, the designee must also be a member in good standing of the Society.
Life
Holders of the following designations qualify:
- Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU),
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries,
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS),
- Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC),
- Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC),
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP),
- Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and
- Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF).
Note that for both the CIC and CPCU/CLU designations, the designee must also be a member in good standing of the Society.
Health
Holders of the following designations qualify:
- Registered Health Underwriters (RHU),
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS),
- Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC) and
- Health Insurance Associate (HIA).
