PA Trusted Choice Big "I" Junior Classic Results

Glenshaw's Corey Wagner shot a 147 (73 & 74) to win the boys division and St. Mary's Emily Riddle defended her title and topped the girls division with a 157 (81 & 76) to win the 36-hole PA State Finals of the Trusted Choice Big "I" Junior Classic on July 22, 2008 at Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, PA. Waynesburg's Zach Schloemer (69 & 81) and Corry's Michael Frisina (76 & 74) tied for second in the boys division finishing with 150. Chambersburg's Tyler Straub finished in fourth place with a 151 (76 & 75). All five junior golfers advanced to the national Big āIā Junior Classic held August 3-7 at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. More than 140 youngsters competed in four qualifying tournaments around the state, with 29 winning spots in the state finals. The state tournament was sponsored by the Insurance Agents and Brokers of PA. On the national level the tournament is sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) and Allied Insurance. These junior golfers will be playing in a tournament that has hosted some of today's top PGA and LPGA stars including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Charles Howell, Grace Park and Cristie Kerr.
