The Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers Inc. announces a call for applicants for the annual Joann Scott Memorial Scholarships. The $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to two college or college-bound students.

"Joann was an active board member of our association," said John Yasik, chairman of the DAIAB. "She was particularly committed to furthering the education of agents, which is why it's so appropriate that we give these scholarships in her name each year."

Delaware residents who are planning to enroll as a full-time, first-year student at an accredited college or university and those who are current undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. A 3.0 or higher grade-point average is required. The application deadline is Feb. 28.

Scott was employed by Kinnamon Taylor & Dawes, of Wilmington, Del. Through her work with the association, she introduced the internationally designated Accredited Customer Service Representative program to Delaware agents.
