LANCASTER, Pa. – The Insurance Agents & Brokers Service Group on Oct. 27-28 held its annual meeting and hosted MarshBerry for its inaugural executive management conference in Lancaster, Pa.
“Our annual meeting is an opportunity to bring our members together and position them, as well as the association, for the future,” said Kathleen Glattly, IA&B Service Group Chairwoman. This included the membership election of the following new directors:
Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers Inc.
Diana Hornung-Momot, ACSR
Thomas J. Hornung and Associates, Wilmington, Del.
Insurance Agents & Brokers of Maryland Inc.
Henry “Butch” Bradley, Jr.
The Pennoyer Group, Inc., Crofton, Md.
Insurance Agents & Brokers of Pennsylvania Inc.
G. Greg Gunn, CIC
Gunn-Mowery, LLC, Lemoyne, Pa.
Following the annual meeting, over 100 member agency owners and principals gathered for the association’s first annual executive management conference. IA&B partnered with MarshBerry to craft and deliver a perpetuation program based on member feedback.
“By and large, agency owners are baby boomers who are facing challenges related to retirement,” said Glattly. “They have built a career on doing the right things and now need to carry that through to a strong perpetuation plan, but many of them have told us that they don’t know where to begin.”
The conference covered how to establish financial benchmarks, attract young talent and cultivate leadership among employees, all with the end goal of attendees’ implementing a successful succession plan.
