Pennsylvania junior golf tournament dates announced

April 5, 2010 – Registration is now open for area junior golfers to participate in the Pennsylvania regional qualifying tournaments for the 42nd annual Trusted Choice® Big “I” National Championship. All youth golfers whose 19th birthday falls after July 30, 2010 are eligible.

Statewide trade association Insurance Agents & Brokers will host four qualifying tournaments:

Saturday, May 22 – West Shore Country Club, Camp Hill, Pa.
Tuesday, June 22 – Country Club of Meadville, Meadville, Pa.
Tuesday, June 22 – Diamond Run Golf Club, Sewickley, Pa.
Thursday, June 24 – Allentown Municipal Golf Course, Allentown, Pa.

Top finishers will advance to the state tournament, which will be held at the Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, Pa. on Thursday, July 8. From there, the top four boys and first-place girl will advance to the national tournament at the Olde York Country Club in Chesterfield, N.J. on July 27-30.

The Trusted Choice® Big “I” National Championship draws 4,000 participants annually. Past competitors include Charlie Howell, Cristie Kerr, Phil Mickelson, Grace Park and Tiger Woods.
