Junior golf tournament dates announced
Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers to host state qualifier
Registration is now open for area junior golfers to participate in the Delaware state qualifying tournament for the 40th annual Trusted Choice® Big “I” Junior Classic.
Statewide trade association Delaware Association of Insurance Agents & Brokers (DAIAB) will host the 18-hole, qualifying tournament at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club in Wyoming, Del. on Monday, June 16. The top boy finisher will advance to the national tournament at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, N.C., on August 3-7.
The Trusted Choice® Big “I” Junior Classic draws 4,000 participants annually. Past competitors include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Charlie Howell, Grace Park and Cristie Kerr.
The tournament is open to any youth golfer whose 19th birthday does not fall on or before August 7. Registration for the regional tournament is $50. The deadline to sign up is Monday, June 9.
